Headteacher Letter – 21st Jan 21

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you once again to all parents and carers for all your support in delivering remote teaching and learning. Last week over 90% of our children had engaged in teaching and learning in some form – online, in school or through learning packs. We would like this to be 100% of our children, and I would ask that any parents who are struggling with the remote learning to please contact school and we will do our best to help.

Thank you also for ensuring that work completed by children is returned to school either electronically through Dojo or in hard copy form. This is very important in assuring school that children are engaging in teaching and learning in some form but it also ensures that class teachers can monitor the progress being made by children. When schools do eventually re-open class teachers will have a much clearer idea where children are at in their learning. I have already contacted a number of parents where we
have not had any work returned and there is usually a good reason why, but we do need to know the reason and we will continue with phone calls where necessary.

Can I remind parents who have been using learning packs that, if possible, we would like any work completed to be returned on Friday so it can be marked and returned the following Monday. I do understand that this is not always possible and we will be pleased to receive the work when you can return it it.

Yours sincerely
Mr. D. Johnson
